“Let’s Have Dinner,” President Duterte Told VP Leni Robredo
President Rodrigo Dutere has invited Vice President Leni Robredo together with her children for a dinner during the graduation ceremonies of the Philippine National Police Academy’s Masidlak class in Silang, Cavite on Friday (March 24, 2017).
The two highest government officials of the country greeted each other but did not totally talked about the impeachment issues. They sat beside each other during the ceremony, despite the issues and controversies between them.
Mr.Duterte invited the vice president for a dinner together with her children, but there was still no specific date for their dinner. “The President himself invited Leni and her family to dinner together with his family,” said by a reliable source quoted by Philstar.
On Wednesday (March 22, 2017), the president ordered his allies to drop the impeachment complaint against Robredo, but he accused Robredo of being allegedly involved in the ouster plot against him on Thursday (March 23, 2017).
Duterte also tackled the involvement of Senator Antonio Trillanes IV in the 2003 Oakwood mutiny and Manila Peninsula siege in 2007. He also accused the senator and his conspirators of stealing cash from hotels.
The president also said that Senator Trillanes and Senator Leila De Lima was behind the triumvirate plotting to oust him from the presidency. He also that if he will be impeached, VP Robredo is the next in line to the presidency. He also explained that he will accept because it would be a part of his destiny as a president.
Senate President Aquilino Pimentel III urged his companion at PDP-Laban to support the president against the unreasonable ouster plot. He also urged Robredo to correct her statement on the controversial video message raising concerns about Extrajudicial Killings (EJK).
