David Lim Jr. Alleged VIP Treatment Only Proves Money Rules Philippines, Tulfo Says
Ramon Tulfo said that the alleged VIP treatment that was given to the road rage suspect David Lim Jr. only proves that money is ruling the country.
The road rage suspect David Lim Jr. came from a wealthy family in Cebu City and he is also the nephew of the alleged Visayan drug lord Peter Lim. The young Lim was involved in a shooting incident during a traffic altercation in Barangay Kamputhaw, Cebu City last Sunday (March 19, 2017).
Mr. Lim was voluntarily surrendered by his family on early Tuesday (March 21, 2017). The suspect was initially detained in an air-conditioned room at the Regional Intelligence Division of the Central Visayas regional police command, instead of immediately brought to the Cebu City police station for detention.
“The special treatment accorded to him proves once again the truism that money talks in this country,” said by Tulfo quoted by Inquirer.
The topic has been discussed when Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre reiterated that “Justice” in the Philippines must be upheld. The Justice secretary has discussed the cases of injustice in the country.
Previously, murder charges were filed against 19 policemen who were allegedly involved in killing Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa, a suspected drug lord in Eastern Visayas. Espinosa was shot dead inside his jail cell upon serving a search warrant.
We must all hope that justice will equally serve under the leadership of President Duterte.
