Road Rage Suspect In Cebu Enters Detention Cell And Hid At The Restroom

The road rage suspect Mr. David Lim Jr. enters detention cell and immediately hid at the comfort room of Cebu City Police Office stockade.

Mr. David Lim Jr. voluntarily surrendered himself to the Cebu police as he was accompanied by his mother and some relatives. Mr. Lim is the suspect behind the shooting incident in Barangay Kamputhaw, Cebu City last Sunday (March 19, 2017).

The gunman shot other motorist named Ephraim Nuñal after their heated exchange of arguments during a traffic altercation. Nuñal suffered from several gunshots to his left thigh and right ankle.

Lim used his .22 caliber gun in shooting Nuñal and immediately escape together with his wife after the incident.

On Tuesday (March 21, 2017), the suspect was peacefully surrendered by his family to the authorities and turned over to the Central Visayas Police. There are some reports that the Philippine National Police (PNP) was giving a special treat to Lim.

PNP Chief Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa” denied the allegations and said that there was no special treatment given to the Cebu road rage suspect. The police chief explained that it was only normal for his family to ensure his safety inside the detention center.

The suspect was spotted earlier staying in an air-conditioned room at the Regional Intelligence Division before the fingerprints and mugshots of Lim were taken.

Around 8:46 pm on Tuesday evening, Mr. Lim entered his newly cleaned cell and hid at the restroom based on the shown photos. Lim will be detained inside the cell until the complaints against him will be brought to the court.

Based on the photos, Mr. Lim receives no special treatment from the authorities and he was equally treated like other inmates. His lawyer Orlando Salatandre said that they just only want to ensure the safety of Lim after receiving threats.
