President Duterte Joined By Some Government Officials For His Official Visit To Myanmar

Here are some government officials who join President Rodrigo Duterte for his first official visit to Myanmar and strengthening its bilateral relations.

President Duterte arrived in Myanmar last Sunday (March 19, 2017) for his first official visit. The president will have a meeting together with Myanmar President U Htin Kyaw for strengthening the relationship between the two countries.

The meeting will discuss the investment relations and in improving the trades in the country. The Philippines has been exporting a lot of agricultural products to Myanmar. Also, the exchange of Filipino and Myanmar nations could strengthen the relations.

Mr. Duterte’s official visit coincides with the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Philippines-Myanmar bilateral relations.

Senators Vicente Sotto III, Alan Peter Cayetano, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Director General Isidro Lapeña joined Duterte on his flight o Myanmar. During the flight, the government official was able to strike a pose together with the president.

The president was also accompanied by some of his Cabinet members including Martin Andanar (Communications), Hermogenes Esperon (National Security), Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo, Delfin Lorenzana (Defense), Ramon Lopez (Trade), Enrique Manalo (Foreign Affairs) and Manny Piñol (Agriculture).

The 2-day visit of President Duterte in Myanmar was schedule from March 19-20, 2017. After his state visit to Myanmar, he was scheduled to officially visit Thailand until Wednesday (March 2, 2017).
