President Duterte Supports Distribution Of Condoms In Schools
President Rodrigo Duterte expressed his support for the distribution of condoms and other contraceptives in schools to prevent unwanted pregnancies and abortion.
Contraceptives is a device or method used by many people to prevent pregnancy. Aside from preventing pregnancy, using contraceptives can also reduce the case of abortion worldwide. The safe and effective method of birth control and family planning exist in the 20th century.
There are numerous types of contraceptives including contraceptive pills, diaphragm, Intrauterine devices (IUDs), sterilization, cervical cap, sponge, contraceptive injections, vaginal ring, emergency contraception, and a condom.
The male condom is one of the most popular and most affordable anti-pregnancy tool, which uses by the males for a safe sexual intercourse with females. It can also protect males from Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD).
Mr. Duterte has expressed his strong support for the distribution of contraceptives in schools to prevent unwanted pregnancies and abortion. The president hates abortion and said that it is an incongruity to take the life of an innocent life inside the womb during pregnancy.
The president also said that the government can’t prevent the young generation from engaging in Pre-Marital Sex (PMS). So it is better to distribute contraceptives to the students.
He also explained that natural family planning method including calendar method was not that effective in preventing pregnancy.
“Hindi iyan madala ng kalendaryo-kalendaryo. You cannot postpone your libido next week. Paano ba naman i-schedule ang libog mo? You must be stupid, really. Think about it… Ano ito klase, may bagyo, may postponement? said by Duterte quoted by Scoop.
