Cebu’s 100-Hectare Safari To Open On Last Quarter Of 2017

On Thursday (March 09, 2017), Cebuano pawn shop tycoon Michel Lhuillier announcer to open the 100-hectare safari in Carmen, Cebu by the last quarter of 2017.

Lhuillier was preparing to open his 100-hectare safari in Cebu by late 2017. He put an end to the report making rounds in the social media that the safari will open this summer. He urged the public to wait patiently because the site was still under beautification.

“I never said (we will open by) April. I’d like to correct that. We are aiming to open by October or November this year. Please be patient, as we are doing our best to make this attraction the best,” said by Lhuillier quoted by Sunstar.

The Cebuano tycoon also said that the safari is one of his biggest investments from all his businesses in Cebu. The safari will feature accommodation facilities, adventure rides, animal interactions, shows, entertainment, and other equipment.

The businessman also said that the animals he bought from other countries such as France, Dubai, and Texas will arrive this month. The place would also have up to 60 species of birds, flowers, and orchid collections.

He also said that tourists can directly interact and feed the animals inside the safari and they hired 4 animal trainers from Singapore. The entrance for the 100-hectare safari will be amounting of P550.

Patria Aurora “Dawnie” Roa, Cebu Province’s tourism consultant said that Lhuillier’s safari in Carmen has been dubbed as the next tourism star in Cebu. She also said that the safari would boost the economy of tourism in the province.

The businessman also said that safari could generate jobs in the city of Carmen, which is composed of 21 barangays with a population of 51, 325 as of 2015.
