Arrogant Priest Urged Disabled Person To Kneel Down Went Viral
A netizen expressed her sentiments on an arrogant priest from the Catholic church, who declines to start the mass until a person with a disability also kneels down.
The priest is one of the most respected church personnel, because of their calling and position on God’s ministry. They were leading the people closer to God by setting an example toward other people and showing an act of kindness in all ways.
A priest in Bacong, Negros Oriental shows a very disrespectful act by urging all people to kneel down including a disabled person, who can’t even walk or stand properly. The family of the disabled person and netizens expressed their disappointment to the priest.
A netizen named Nikki Gonzales shared her experience during the funeral mass of her late grandfather, which she attended together with her family and relatives. Some of them were non-Catholic, so they decided to sit at the back.
The priest announced on the microphone that the funeral mass would not start until everyone fall on their knees. Her grandfather had rheumatic arthritis on both knees and her uncle was a disable person due to diabetes. The priest stared the old man and disable person and repeated the order.
Nikki’s cousin told the priest that her uncle was disabled, but the arrogant priest responded in a disrespectful manner saying “Then you should not have brought them here.” Gonzales’ family and her relatives were shocked on the priests’ actions.
The family approached the priest right after the mass and told the priest to apologize, but he refused to apologize. The priest replied, “I am a shepherd of this flock, I want you to show respect for this church.”
Nikki’s cousin said that the priest should have considered the condition of her grandfather and uncle. She also told the priest that “You are a wolf of the Church and don’t see you as a priest anymore. We only see you as a man wearing a sutana.”
Nikki also found out that the priest was transferred from Siquijor because he was petitioned by the people due to his arrogance. The priest is now under observation by the bishop.
