Vacationing OFW mauled by a group of Chinese-speaking foreigners.
A vacationing Overseas Filipino Worker lost his life after he was mauled by a group of Chinese-speaking foreigners in Quezon City.
According to a report of 24 Oras, Abigail Gino Basas who worked as a photographer for a cruise ship went to a bar to unwind. But when he was about to go home, he accidentally bumped one of the bar customers who took the accident badly.
The CCTV footage shows that a man wearing a cap was being chased by a group of guys and when cornered, he got beat.
The video showed some of the women tried to intervene but they failed. A few moments later, 3 men arrived and helped Basas to stand up and guided him to a parked car.
Basas arrived at the hospital half-dead from the beating. Unfortunately, he failed to survive the pain and was declared dead.
In a report of ABS-CBN news, the witness, Lola Nene revealed that the people who beat Basas are foreigners.
“Hindi Pinoy eh. Nagsasalita ng Instik Eh. Hindi mga Pinoy,” she said.
Lola Nene also said that not less than ten people are taking a turn in delivering killer blows to the hapless OFW.
Meanwhile, before the incident, Basas had reportedly posted in his Facebook account some quotes which being said to be a premonition of the incident.
In his Facebook timeline, Basas posted a quote that says something about walking away when people mistreat you.
Based on his Facebook post, some of his friends and families believed that it was a sign that something unpleasant will happen to him.
Furthermore, there is an ongoing autopsy to determine the cause of death of Basas. The Quezon City Police Department are now taking some actions to investigate the incident and gather more CCTV footage to find the suspects.
