U.S President Donald Trump Expressed Support For Duterte
The 45th U.S President Donald Trump expressed his full support for Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte despite human rights group’s criticisms.
President Duterte launches the anti-illegal drug campaign to reduce the crime rate in the Philippines. His war on drugs started after he took his office last June 30, 2016, but after few months, human rights groups, European Union (EU), and former U.S President Barack Obama have criticized Duterte’s war on drugs amid Extrajudicial Killings (EJK).
U.S President Trump strengthens Duterte despite those criticisms on his anti-illegal drug campaign which kills almost 7, 000 people. Trump said that Duterte should ignore and neglect his critics who have nothing good to say.
Trump also encouraged the Philippine president to stand firm for his people were counting on him. He also said that human rights group will always point their finger and accuse people without analyzing the current situation.
The U. S president and Mr. Duterte were similar in many aspects such in point of view, leadership, and political matters. An encouraging remark to Duterte saying “U. S is fully behind you.Human rights groups didn’t elect you, Citizens did” was said by Trump quoted by newsmediaph.
Trump’s remarks came after the international human groups criticized Duterte for De Lima’s arrest.
