Murder Charges Filed Against The Road Rage Suspect In Quezon City

The 45-year-old suspect behind the road rage incident in Quezon City will face murder charges after killing the motorcycle driver.

Michael Mendoza, the brother of road rage victim ‘Anthony Mendoza’ burst out into tears after the police showed him the photo of the 45-year-old suspect. The suspect was identified as Fredison “Sonson” Atienza who shoots Anthony.

Michael confirmed that Fredison was the man who pulled out a gun and shoots his younger brother in the head after the exchange of heated argument in a road rage incident.

The incident started when Atienza (driving a Toyota Land Cruiser) almost hit the Yamaha Fino motorcycle driven by Anthony. Michael told his brother to forget what happened but Atienza allegedly shouted: “why did I hit you?”

Anthony cursed under his breath and not to the driver, but Atienza cursed too and shot him at the back of his head, which causes his death.

The road rage incident happened last Saturday (February 25, 2017) at the corner of D. Tuazon street and Quezon Avenue in Barangay Doña Josef around 3:15 pm in the afternoon.

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director, Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar tracked the plate number of Toyota Land Cruiser using the closed circuits television cameras in the area.

The plate number was mistakenly identified as AHA 3454, which was registered to a Hazel Joyce Atienza of Grace Village, Quezon City. The exact plate number of the Land Cruiser was identified as AHA 3458, which is register to Atienza an also confirmed by other camera footage in the area.

Eleazar said that Atienza has 2 handguns such as .45-cal. STI and a Glock 9mm, which both licenses were expired. A 9mm slug was recovered by police investigators at the crime scene.

The QCPD chief described Atienza as armed and dangerous. “We are still in hot pursuit of Atienza who will be charged with murder,” said by Eleazar quoted by Inquirer.
