Senator Pangilinan was blocked from entering Crame caught on video.
A video featuring Senator Pangilinan having a heated conversation with a police officer after he was barred from entering the Camp Crame has gone viral.
The video footage of the incident was shared on Facebook.
A brief standoff occurred between the senator and a police officer in front of the Camp Crame. The video revealed that the senator in the video is none other than Senator Kiko Pangilinan, the Liberal Party President.
The video shows that the senator arrived in the place and got off from his Ford SUV after the police officer stopped them from entering Camp Crame without security clearance.
While the senator was having a verbal exchange with the police officer, a male aide joined him in confronting the police official.
The officer can be seen on the video trying to relay an information that the there was a heightened security and instruction that they will carefully screen the visitors before entering the Camp Crame.
The senator then said that the media can freely enter the camp but he was not allowed to go in.
In the end of the video, Pangilinan and his companions were allowed to enter the camp.
According to the Facebook post, Senator Pangilinan wished to visit his colleague inside the Crame but he was blocked by a police officer.
The post clarified that there was a miscommunication about the vehicle of the senator. A different brand of vehicle was relayed to the public stationed at the gate.
However, the video has caught the attention of Pinoy online community. Senator Kiko Pangilinan has been getting flak from the netizens because of his actions in the video:
“Just because your a senator it means youll have an exemption. there was an instruction…masyado nyong binibigyan ng drama yung katokayo mo,” netizen said.
“Simpleng rules lng yan! hindi k agad makaka pasok sa Camp crame kung wala kang access p(–foul word(s) removed–) sabi ni Gen. same sa mga subdivision my sticker! gnun den s crame! puro kengkoy mga tao dito! grabe kauto-uto mga tao dito!” another netizen commented.
Meanwhile, supporters of the senator defended his actions.
“Truly admirable, Mr. senator, how you constantly supported & stood by Atty. de Lima, even at the expense of your popularity, and the risk of being trolled/bashed on social media. WE WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER,” netizen said.
