Manila, Philippines – Kapampangan artist with a rare bone disease has impressed the netizens for creating the portrait of the world’s famous tattoo artist Apo Whang Od.

37-year-old artist Erwin “Weng” Dayrit has earned praises from the netizens for his extraordinary gift. He was born with the brittle bone disease, causing him to be confined in a wheelchair.

Despite the physical difficulties of his condition, Dayrit managed to pursue his dream of becoming an artist.

According to a report of The Summit Express, Dayrit finished his Drafting course at Don Honorio Ventura State University. Right after he graduated, Dayrit and his friends from the university launched an Arts and Sign business.

Through his determination and passion in arts, Dayrit became a successful artist. Their business gave him the opportunity to enhance his talent and skills as an artist.

Reports said people started to recognize the Kapampangan artist with his amazing talent. In fact, he was awarded as one of the outstanding Fernandino for San Fernando City, Pampanga in 2011.

Dayrit was also been featured in local media TV stations after he competed in various national and provincial competitions.

With his incredible talent and with the help of his family, Dayrit’s story became an inspiration to many. He became the recipient of an award from the Bahay Kubo ng Sining foundations, Inc.

The Facebook post of Dayrit has caught the attention of the netizens on social media. Many netizens have praised him for creating the incredible portrait of the world’s famous tattoo artist Apo Whang Od using only colored ballpoint pens.

Currently, Dayrit serves as a mentor at a Facebook art community entitled GUHIT Pinas.

Erwin is determined to prove that his condition will not prevent him from doing the things he enjoys most. Being disabled is not a choice but being happy to fulfill dreams is!” Dayrit’s sister Zorina told Filipino Artists Magazine.
