Six slain in Negros Oriental.
DUMAGUETE CITY – Six people were found dead, including an 8-year-old child in a remote area in Tayasan Town, Negros Oriental.
According to the recent news report of Inquirer.net, the incident appeared to be a massacre by a family member who killed himself afterward.
Senior Supt. Henry Biñas, Negros Oriental police director, shared that Tayasan was reportedly in the hinterlands on the border of Negros Oriental and Negros Occidental. Meaning, they could not immediately get the details of the incident because they have no clear telecommunication signal.
The initial reports revealed that the victims were identified as Leovicita Guillepa, 48; Felisa Amihoy, 60; Walbet Amihoy, 40; Dikoy Amihoy, 20; Marilou Goles, 14; and Rea Mae Dagohoy Guillepa, 8.
According to Biñas, the police investigation revealed that the victims died from hack and stab wounds.
Walbet, 40, was suspected of being responsible for the killings after the weapon was found near to him. The investigation was supported by the report of the Scene of the Crime Operatives.
Walbet was reportedly acting strangely after his stepfather died and was buried on February 16. Prior to that, he was not eating, restless and was carrying his knife with him.
Based on the investigation of SOCO, the wounds were caused by the knife that Walbet was carried.
Biñas added that the wounds match to the size of the knife of the suspects.
Benjamin Bartolo, a neighbor said that he heard a woman screaming around 1 a.m. Friday.
Judito Ludivice was reportedly the first to see the dead bodies after he went to the house of the victims.
Ludivice shared that he wanted to see Dikoy Amihoy and tell him to bring his cow in the market. He tried to knock at the door but nobody answered him.
He was then in great shock after he saw a bloodied body of a woman sprawled on the floor. He immediately calls out for help to their neighbors and called the police.
Based on the police investigation, Biñas said that there is no another suspect involved.
