Vice President Leni Robredo Invited On Miss Universe Coronation

Vice President Leni Robredo was invited to the Miss Universe coronation, her tickets were only delayed, according to the Tourism Secretary Wanda Teo.

The Tourism Secretary denied that Robredo was not invited on the Miss Universe coronation on Monday (January 30, 2017). On Friday (January 27, 2017), the vice president told the reporters that she was not invited on the most prestige beauty pageant of the year.

She also said that she would not attend the coronation of the Miss Universe because she was not invited. Teo explained that the tickets for the country’s second-highest official were delayed because they only wanted to give her VIP tickets.

VIP tickets take longer time and process before it will be release unlike the lower box tickets, which is faster compared to VIP tickets. Lower box tickets were given to the local government officials and cabinet secretaries.

Teo explained that Robredo was one of the first officials in her mind to invite on the Miss Universe coronation. Robredo will receive the 2 VIP tickets for the international beauty contest on Saturday (January 28, 2017). The VIP tickets are worth P50, 000 each.

“And before tickets were handed out, nasa listahan na po si VP Leni at may 2 upuan nang nakareserba sa kanya. The Department of Tourism would be delighted if she will grace the 65th Miss Universe coronation night with her presence,” said by Teo quoted by ABS-CBN.

Robredo was one of the judges who asked Pia Wurtzback regarding the power of social media and internet censorship during the 2015 Binibining Pilipinas pageant. It was also the same event brought Pia to her way in winning the Miss Universe.
