Miss Universe 1993 Dayanara Torres is back in the Philippines.
Filipinos warmly welcome Dayanara Torres, who won Miss Universe in 1993, as she is back in the Philippines which she once considered her home.
The former Miss Universe queen has always been close to the heart of Filipinos. She stayed in the country for about five years and fall in love with the Filipinos.
All through the years, the Puerto Rican beauty has never forgotten Filipinos and now she is back in the country.
The 42-year-old Puerto Rican beauty queen is in the country as she was previously announced as one of the judges both in the preliminary competition and the coronation of Miss Universe 2016 that will be held in the Philippines.
According to the report of ABS-CBN news, Miss Universe President Paula Shugart is the one who confirmed that Torres will be one of the judges of the competition.
“It’s great to be a judge. This is my third time actually being a judge. It’s fun. It’s definitely less nerve-wracking because you’re not the one standing on stage. You’re only judging. But hopefully, we’ll find the perfect girl for the job,” she said.
She is very happy that she is back in the country, Torres shared that she has never forgotten Filipinos and she even craves for Filipino food.
In an interview with the former beauty queen, she was asked on what she misses the most, Torres said: “I miss ‘ASAP,’ lumpia, sinigang na baboy. But working at ‘ASAP, ‘I learned so much.”
Torres was once dubbed as the Philippines’ “Dancing Queen.” She is one of the original hosts of the ABS-CBN variety show “ASAP” along with Gary Valenciano, Martin Nievera, Pops Fernandez and Ariel Rivera.
The report said that Torres might be staying in the country longer.
Miss Universe 1993 Dayanara Torres is in the country for the 65th edition of the international pageant.
