Facebook user Shyla Mie Brillantes Blasico took to social media and shared the photos of a boy with his toddler brother in class has gone viral.

Miss Blasico is a teacher from J. Blanco Elementary School in South Cotabato. She shared the photos of one of her students with his baby brother on his lap on her official facebook account.

In a Facebook post, Miss Blasico shared the story of her poor student. According to her, the boy in the photo is Mateo Baño, nine-year-old, a grade 3 pupil.

She also shared in her post that the mother of Mateo died because of ectopic pregnancy last year.

“Dahil walang mag-aalaga sa kapatid niya dinadala niya na lang ito sa klase para di maka absent,” Blasico said.

The teacher said that Mateo brings his baby brother so that he can attend his cl(–foul word(s) removed–) at school.

Furthermore, Teacher Blasico shared in an interview with ABS-CBN news that Mateo’s older brother in Grade 5 takes turns in caring for their baby brother.

The father of Mateo leaves his boys alone in the house because he is currently working as a carpenter in Surala. Sometimes, the children’s relatives are checking how the boys are doing at home.

After the photos of Mateo and his baby brother went viral on social media, Miss Blasico shared that she has been receiving words of encouragement from netizens as well as help from good-hearted people.

“Mayroong tumawag, magpapadala ng pera. Mga 8.30 a.m., may nagpunta dito nagbigay ng pera, P500. Yung iba nagtetext,” she said.

Many netizens were quick and shared the photos on the social media.

“Wala daw silang bigas. Gusto namin food, damit at basic school needs,” teacher Blasico appealed to those good-hearted people who are willing to help the poor kids.
