During their merienda, Duterte offered suman, kutsinta, biko, and mongo soup. He also offered “Durian” and “Suha” to the Japanese PM and Abe seems to like Filipino foods. Many Filipinos were glad on the president’s personality and simplicity.
It is the first time in the history that a foreign leader visited the house of the Philippine president. Abe was the highest ranking officials who visited Davao. Duterte accompanied Abe together with his special assistant Christopher Go.

Filipinos were proud of President Duterte for all he has done for the country since he took office. But Duterte is currently facing numerous issues and controversies including his war on drugs campaign amid Extrajudicial Killings (EJK). The president earned the respect of international leaders due to his humbleness and ability to build a good relationship with other people.
