Japan’s PM Shinzo Abe’s Activities With President Duterte During His Visit On Davao City

Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s activities together with Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, during his visit to Davao City.

President Duterte was visited by Japan’s Abe at his home in Davao City. Abe’s arrival at the president’s house was anticipated by the residents of Doña Luisa Subdivision. Abe was warmly welcomed by Duterte and residence of Davao upon his arrival.

Last year, the president had his state visit in Japan to boost the ties and the relationship between the Philippines and Japan. Duterte’s state visit was a success by having a negotiation and agreement with Japan to improve the country’s economy.

Shinzo Abe's Activities

Abe and Duterte have some conversations and merienda in Davao City. The president also toured the Japanese prime minister on his house and even in his bedroom, which a mosquito net on his bed is visible in one of their photos. The house of the president shows that he has a simple way living, unlike any government officials.

During their merienda, Duterte offered suman, kutsinta, biko, and mongo soup. He also offered “Durian” and “Suha” to the Japanese PM and Abe seems to like Filipino foods. Many Filipinos were glad on the president’s personality and simplicity.

It is the first time in the history that a foreign leader visited the house of the Philippine president. Abe was the highest ranking officials who visited Davao. Duterte accompanied Abe together with his special assistant Christopher Go.

But Duterte is currently facing numerous issues and controversies including his war on drugs campaign amid Extrajudicial Killings (EJK). The president earned the respect of international leaders due to his humbleness and ability to build a good relationship with other people.
