Bagman of alias Beria reveals the names of two media men who were allegedly using the name of the former radio station they worked for to claim drug money

BAGMAN TELLS ALL – Ricky Serenio, top drug personality in Negros Island Region and alleged bagman of bigtime drug lord in Bacolod City, Victoria alias Beria Tolentino, named two media practitioners who are allegedly receiving payola.

Serenio, who was nabbed on Sunday morning by the Regional Special Operations Task Group (RSOTG) Region 18 and Philippine National Police Special Action Force (PNP SAF) by the power of warrant of arrest in Grave Coercion charges, said the two media men were using the name of Bombo Radyo Bacolod, the leading radio station in Bacolod and Negros Occidental, where they both used to work for.

According to Beria’s bagman, who was interviewed at Camp Alfredo Montelibano Sr. in Barangay Estefania in Bacolod City, former radio reporter and now Barangay Zone 12-A, Talisay City Barangay Kagawad Edwin de Pedro and former Barangay Bata, Bacolod City Barangay Kagawad Joe Liboon used to receive weekly payola.

Serenio said Liboon receives not less than P50 thousand per week while De Pedro receives a smaller amount in exchange of making defense every time Tolentino’s name is dragged in illegal drugs. Also, they pin down Beria’s rival drug lord so that the attention of the public will be diverted to the other drug group operating in the province.

He said Liboon and De Pedro used to receive P5 thousand a week but when the name of Beria and of the bagman himself were already starting to be heard on-air, the bigtime drug lord started to given them P50 thousand allowance per week to divert public attention and blame to the rival drug group.

The bagman his boss confidently told him their drug group has nothing to worry about because they have connections in the most influential radio network in the province.

Bombo Radyo Bacolod clarified that De Pedro and Liboon used to work for their radio station but are now connected to other media outlets.

The radio station said that it is confident in its employees and that no body from among their officers and ranks is receiving any payola, in exchange of biased broadcasting.
