There are some habits that we usually do after eating without knowing its negative effects to the body. Most people were not aware that doing such habits after having a lunch or dinner can be dangerous to the body.

Sleeping after eating is obviously dangerous for the body’s health. Individuals may experience bloating, discomfort, and sleeping pattern disorder. People should also eat few hours before going to bed at night because sleeping after a dinner can cause stomach burn during the night.

Shower

Taking a bath or having a shower after a meal can weaken the digestive system and may lead to stomach pain. This habit will increase the blood flow in the legs and hands but it can reduce the blood flow in the stomach.

Smoke

Most smokers usually smoke after having a meal. Smoking after eating can bind the excess oxygen needed by our body for the digestion process. Smoking a cigarette after a meal is equivalent to 10 cigarettes and may increase the risk of lung and bowel cancer.

Drink Tea

Drinking a cup of tea after eating is a bad habit because it can interfere the absorption of iron. Tea contains tannic acid, which can bind the protein and iron from the food that we eat. This habit may lead to anemia, which may cause poor appetite, dizziness, weakness, over fatigue, chest pain, pale skin, cold feet, and hands.

Eat Fruit

Eating fruit after a meal may spoil the food that we eat and turns to acid, which can cause burping, indigestion, and heartburn. Fruits were best to be consumed on an empty stomach.
