Shortly following the protests against the Marcos burial at the LNMB, Robredo received a text message from the Malacañang Palace to stop attending the Cabinet meetings, prompting her to resign as the chairman of the Housing and Urband Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC).

In an exclusive interview with the CNN recently, President Duterte said that he kicked Robredo out of his Cabinet because he found it “awkward” for him and Leni to face each other at the Cabinet meeting a day after she joined protests calling for his ouster.

He said the “Yellows”, referring to the color of the political opposition Liberal Party to which VP Leni belongs, are the one who want him out of Presidency.
He reiterated that the Liberals are “sore losers” who cannot accept that they have been defeated in the last election.
