Jocellyn Roa Duterte defended the President against Sen. De Lima.
Jocellyn Roa Duterte, the sister of Pres. Rodrigo ‘Rody’ Duterte, defended the Chief Executive against Senator Leila De Lima.
In the previous months, the public has witnessed the deep rift between Pres. Duterte and Sen. De Lima. Lots of news reports were sparked by their exchanges of intense statements.
Reportedly, there was a time when Pres. Duterte justified that he revealed the alleged affair of the lady senator with her driver-bodyguard Ronnie Dayan as it is a link to an alleged drug trade inside the New Bilibid Prison.
It took quite a while before Sen. De Lima confirmed that she had a romantic affair with Dayan in the past. She also revealed that they were officially over before she ran for a senatorial spot.
Dayan, aside from being the former bodyguard and driver of the lady senator, is the alleged ‘bagman’ of Sen. De Lima.
The lady senator is currently facing allegations of her involvement in the alleged drug trade inside the national penitentiary when she was the Secretary of the Department of Justice.
Recently, Sen. De Lima has received an international award from a prominent magazine for standing up against Pres. Duterte. However, in another report, it is stated that the lady senator is included in Pres. Duterte’s list of government officials who are alleged protectors of illegal drugs.
The issue between the two even came to the point that Sen De Lima wants the Cabinet to consider declaring the President as ‘unfit’ to perform his duties as the Chief Executive after his tirades against the Anti-Money Laundering Council based on a previous news report.
Recently, the presidential sister broke her silence and defended her brother through a post on the social media.
The post can be found in the Facebook account of Jocellyn Roa Duterte. The post was addressed to Sen. De Lima. Duterte emphasized to the senator that she is ‘suspected and investigated as one of the biggest drug lord (lords)’ in the Philippines.
She claimed that the lady senator is the one ‘doing the killings’ as she also stated that there is only a little hope to survive from drug addiction once one becomes addicted to drugs.
“When I look at you, I will not be surprised if you yourself is one! I have seen a lot of families, friends, and mostly among the youth what drugs has done to them,” the presidential sister told Sen. De Lima through the post.
“You are the one who is the killer, not Duterte,” she added. The post has reached more than one hundred shares on the social media and many netizens agreed with the sentiment of Duterte.
