The Social media giant Facebook has recently released the list of 2016 most talked about topics in the world.
Facebook listed The Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte on the 5th spot of social network’s list of top moments for 2016.
President Duterte is just behind the US presidential election who take the number 1 spot, Brazilian politics, Pokémon Go, and the Black Lives Matter campaign.
Duterte took the top spot for breaking all previous records in the Philippine election history.
He was tagged as “The Punisher” for his anti-illegal drugs campaign to suppress crime in the country.
Facebook shared that they measured the social network’s list of top moments for 2016 by how frequently each topic was mentioned in Facebook posts through the year, beginning January 1 and ending on December 8, 2016.
The social media giant also revealed that the posts with the most mentions were analyzed before the list was put together.
“To put this list together, mentions were analyzed in an aggregated, anonymized way and then ranked to create a snapshot of the year on Facebook,” Facebook said.
