Immediate Support For Typhoon Victims In Catanduanes Reassured By President Duterte

President Rodrigo Duterte assures the victims of Typhoon Nina in Catanduanes for an immediate government support such as the distribution of relief goods.

The president promises the residence of Catanduanes to provide immediate assistance to those affected by Typhoon Nina, which ravaged some areas in the Philippines during the Christmas weekends.

Duterte made his pledge during the distribution of relief goods in Catanduanes on Tuesday (December 27, 2016). President Rody wanted to give immediate relief to the typhoon victims who urgently needs it.

Typhoon Nina devastated other provinces of Southern Luzon, Catanduanes, and several parts of Visayas. The president also explained that several provinces in the country including Leyte and Samar are the windows of the country so it is obviously prone to the typhoon.

He also mentioned the different secretaries from different sectors, which will participate to immediately address the problems of the affected areas. He also promised to make an (–foul word(s) removed–)sment to estimate the total costs for the restoration of affected areas, which will be revealed to the public before New Year.

The president also said that he will immediately make a move next year. He also plans to build infrastructure projects, consistent distribution of relief goods, and other programs that could support the needs of Filipino people.

He also wanted to immediately restore the electricity in the province, which was damaged by the typhoon during the weekends. He also explained that the government will spend the remaining days of 2016 in (–foul word(s) removed–)sing and extending help to the affected provinces.

Duterte also refused the ceremonial gift giving for the distribution of relief goods, which he had called as “corny.” He also said that the funds used for relief goods distribution came from people’s money.

The president also hopes for the fast restoration and recovery of the provinces devastated by the typhoon with the government support.
