Lovely Adam Impal, who is the supplier of drugs being distributed by Kerwin Espinosa, surrendered to the PNP on Monday morning.
The alleged supplier of illegal drugs being distributed by top drug lord of Eastern Visayas, Kerwin Espinosa, had surrendered to the Philippine National Police on December 5, Monday morning.
The supplier identified as Lovely Adam Impal, according to PNP Chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa, submitted herself to the police and is now providing “additional information, but did not elaborate on te specific data.
General Dela Rosa made the confirmation during the Senate inquiry into the death of Kerwin’s father, Mayor Rolando Espinosa Sr. of Albuera, Leyte province.
The Senate hearing is in progress as of this writing.
Espinosa had earlier named Impal as his illegal drugs supplier in the previous hearings in the Senate.
In late November, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Northern Mindanao had confirmed that Impal is included in their watch list of high value targets and bigtime personalities connected with the illegal drug trade in the region.
According to PDEA spokesman Ben Kalibre, the name of Impal has long been tagged in interrogations of arrested drug personalities and since last year, it has consistently surfaced in their drugs watch list.
But ever since, they had no physical description of Impal. The same is one of the core reasons why the PNP finds it hard to arrest the bigtime drug supplier.
But when Kerwin was made to attend the earlier Senate inquiry, he described Impal to the lawmakers as a tall, mestiza-looking woman, who owned houses Iligan City, Cagayan de Oro City, Bukidnon and Makati City.
In the continuing December 5 Senate inquiry, Kerwin and Senator Leila de Lima’s former driver, bodyguard and lover, Ronnie Dayan, are facing off.
Senators are grilling both resource persons to have a wider picture of the illegal drug trade in the Philippines, including the alleged amassing of De Lima of millions of pesos to bankroll her campaign to the Senate last May.
