FEU professor’s comparison of Marcos’ and Cory’s burial caught the attention of the Filipino netizens on the social media.
Far Eastern University professor Francis Rae Quilantang shared in his statement that he has covered the burial of Corazon Aquino as a reporter.
Quilantang said that Ferdinand Marcos’ burial was no Hero’s burial, not when put in comparison to the burial of Corazon Aquino.
He said the uprisings against the late president’s burial at the Heroes’ cemetery is uncalled for.
Quilantang pointed out in his statement that Filipinos should practice being fair, because both leaders have sin in society, there are human rights violations, corruption issues.
Wherein in his statement, he claimed that Corazon Aquino should have paid for her atrocities and did not deserve her burial.
“Hindi po sa sinasabi ko agad na porket anti-Marcos ka ay Pro-Aquino ka na, pero be fair din naman, pare-parehas lang silang may kasalanan sa lipunan, may mga human rights violations, corruption issues pero sinisingle out nyo ung iisang tao.” he wrote.
He clarified that said he is neither pro-Marcos or Aquino, but calls himself an “observer, a student of various ideas and information.”
