Negotiator Hopes Peace Talks With Communist Rebels Despite Marcos Burial

President Rodrigo Duterte’s negotiator hopes for peace talks with the communist rebels who opposes Marcos burial at the “Libingan ng mga Bayani.”

Last Friday (November 17, 2016), late dictator Ferdinand Marcos was buried at the “Heroes Cemetery” despite the opposition of several human rights groups and martial law victims. The Supreme Court’s decision was not yet final according to a certain lawyer but the Marcos family sued and immediately buried Marcos’ remains at the Libingan.

A lot of people and netizens reacts on Marcos ‘surprise’ hero’s burial on Friday. Netizens expressed their air sentiments and people who oppose FM burial at the Libingan expressed their negative feedbacks on the president and court’s decision.

Duterte was tagged as “rotten trapo” (Traditional Politician) by the Communist Party of the Philippines for allowing the late strongman’s burial at the LNMB despite Marcos’ alleged human rights violations, abuses, and massive corruptions three decades ago.
