De Lima Allegedly Given P8-M ‘Protection Money’ From Kerwin, According To Senator Pacquiao

P8 million ‘protection money’ was allegedly given by suspected drug lord Kerwin Espinosa to Senator Leila De Lima, according to Senator Manny Pacquiao.

Senator Pacquiao said the has the video footage of his conversation with Kerwin last November 18, 2016. The video was recorded by Manny a few hours before Espinosa was brought to Camp Crame in Quezon City straight from Abu Dhabi.

Manny said in an interview when he was asked which senator Kerwin involved in illegal drugs, Kerwin told him that it was Senator Leila De Lima. Kerwin said that he gave De Lima a total amount of P8 million on a monthly basis.

Protection Money

Pacquiao also said that the money given by Espinosa to the former Justice Secretary was an exchange for his protection. Kerwin also told Manny that he was assured that De Lima would protect her by ordering him to go to Baguio.
