Tsunami Alert Issued After 7.3 Magnitude Quake Struck Fukushima, Japan

A 7.3 magnitude earthquake struck Fukushima in Japan on Tuesday (November 22, 2016), a 3-meter tsunami alert was issued by Japan Meteorological Agency.

In Fukushima, Japan around 6 am in the morning, a strong earthquake struck the place. The quake’s epicenter was felt in Tokyo, was off the coast of Fukushima prefecture at a depth of about 10 km.

In quake in Tokyo shook the building with a 6.9 magnitude quake, 240 km southwest of the epicenter, according to the U.S Geological Survey. Nuclear power plant in Fukushima was checked by Tokyo Electric Power Co and there were no damages and abnormalities found in its Onagawa nuclear plant.

Tsunami Alert

The agency advises the residents resident near the coastal areas to vacate their place for the safety of everyone for the incoming 3 meters (10 feet) tsunami. Ships moving out to sea from Fukushima harbors was shown in a television footage.
