Groups who go against the burial of former President Marcos at Libingan ng mga Bayani will hold a concert to call for the public’s support.
The call for the trashing of the proposed laying of the body of former President Ferdinand Edralin Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani will be taken to a whole new level – a concert this time.
The concert will serve as a prayer before the Supreme Court votes to resolve the controversy coming November 8.
The Anti-Marcos groups, led by the Coalition Against the Burial of Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani, are calling on the public to join their call for support at the Lapu-Lapu Monument in Rizal Park for the concert title, “Pray for Eight – A Prayer Concert”, coming November 6, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The Anti-Marcos groups need a minimum of eight votes to defeat the plan to bury Marcos at the Heroes’ Cemetery, a place the petitioners believe to be reserved ‘only for heroes’, which the late dictator is not one.
President Rodrigo Duterte had previously expressed favor to lay Marcos’ body at the Libingan ng mga Bayani, saying Marcos is eligible to get a square on the cemetery, being a former Chief Executive and commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
