House Of Representatives To Approve Capital Punishment Bill
Capital punishment bill plans to approve by House of Representatives on the third or final reading of the bill before the Christmas break.
President Rodrigo Duterte often threatened to take the lives of the criminals. One of his priority measures is to revive the capital punishment that will be approved by the House of Representatives before the year ends.
Drug convicts and the wicked criminals will receive this punishment, if the bill will be approved by the House, according to Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez. The House will be the one that is in charge to set methods for execution of the criminals.
“I don’t know with the Senate, I don’t control it, but as far as the House is concerned, we will approve it before the Christmas break,” said by Alvarez who joined Duterte’s state visit to Japan quoted by Inquirer.
