PNP Chief Calls By De Lima To Investigate The Controversial Dispersal

De Lima Calls Dela Rosa To Investigate 2 Different Rally Dispersal Incidents

Philippine National Police (PNP) chief director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa calls by Senator Leila De Lima to investigate the controversial dispersal of militants on Wednesday (October 19, 2016).

Non-lethal methods shall be used by PNP Manual of Operation to disperse the assemblies of militants, according to De Lima. She said that unnecessary force should not be used to disperse the rally, like what PNP did during the rally in front of US Embassy.

De Lima was the former Justice Secretary when she was appointed by former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo as the Chairperson of Philippine Commission on Human Rights. So she calls Dela Rosa to investigate the violent dispersal of militants in two separate incidents including indigenous people (IP’s).

“I call on PNP Chief Ronald Dela Rosa to look into this incident, identify the lapses, and enforce command responsibility in exacting accountability from the concerned officials involved in the dispersals,” said by De Lima quoted by GMA.
