PAL Flight Disrupted By Bomb Threat, Declared Hoax

The bomb threat was spread after a letter was found on the sink of PAL Flight 103 on Thursday morning.

A bomb threat disrupted the flight of a Philippine Airlines (PAL) Boeing 777 plane with registry RPC 7772 from the United States on early Thursday morning.

Based on the initial investigation of the Aviation Security Group (AVSEC) special operations unit, a styrofoam cup with written threat was left on the sink of PAL Flight PR 103 from Los Angeles, California, USA.

The letter said a bomb was planted inside the said PAL plane.

The plane pilots and crew immediately alerted the Manila air control tower and authorities awaited for the landing of the said aircraft at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

According to AVSEC, they received an initial information from air control tower about a “bomb threat written on the lavatory of PAL flight PR 103”.

The report also said that “personnel of this station immediately alerted … personnel of SOU and K9 to respond upon the arrival of said aircraft”.
