Bagyo Lawin has intensified as it entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
Shortly after Bagyo Karen exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), Bagyo Lawin has approached the national territory and has intensified as it penetrates the country.
Based on the weather update issued by the state weather agency, Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Administration (PAGASA), Bagyo Lawin entered PAR at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
According to PAGASA, from 150 kph strength of wind on Monday morning, it has abruptly sped up to 175 kph near the center with gustiness of up to 215 kph.
Bagyo Lawin tracks the West Northwest direction at a speed of 24 kph.
Meanwhile, within 24 hours, the tropical depression is expected to be at 975 kilometers east of Baler, Aurora and at 400 kilometers east of Casiguran, Aurora in the next 48 hours.
