Storm Lawin Expects To Be A Typhoon When It hits Northern Luzon

The incoming Severe Tropical Storm “Lawin” is expected to be a typhoon and enter the Philippine Area Of Responsibility (PAR) by 7pm on October 17, 2016, following typhoon “Karen”.

On Sunday (October 16, 2016), state weather bureau announced that another storm “Lawin” which have an international name “Haime” will landfall on Wednesday or Thursday and expected to be a typhoon when it hits Northern Luzon.

Previously, typhoon “Karen” devastated the country where it took the lives of 2 people, 1 people injured, left 3 people missing, and damaged P54 million worth of agricultural crops, according to the Office of Civil Defense in Bicol’s initial report. However, the typhoon is already moving away from PAR.

As of Sunday morning, in the east Visayas, storm “Lawin” carries a maximum sustained winds of 105 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts up to 130 kph while about 1,600 kilometers which will bring a bad weather to the affected areas.
