31 MWSS Officials To Return P27M Unauthorized Allowances, Ordered By COA
31 MWSS (Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System) officials to return the P27 million unauthorized allowances as ordered by COA (Commission on Audit).
On January 14, 2015, COA declared the final and executory return of P27 million of irregular allowances of MWSS officials. Four notices of disallowances (ND’s) was issued by Corporate Government Sector Cluster director against the 31 MWSS officials.
The ND’s were issued on June 13, 14 and July 1, 2013. The petition for review filed by MWSS officials was junked by COA commissioners Jose Fabia, Isabel Agito and Chairman Michael Aguinaldo who headed the COA Commission Proper.
In 2012, the 31 MWSS officials have been given amelioration allowance, representation, and transportation allowances, also ND’s covered the cost of living allowance. But it was founded excessive and baseless by the state auditors.
The petitioners failed to meet the deadline to gain the decision of the state auditors that was supposedly on December 23, 2013. They cited the pressure o work that’s why they did not meet the 180 days for the deadline given by COA commissioners.
