Former Senator Miriam was laid beside her son who died on 2003.
Former Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago was laid to her final resting place to the Loyola Memorial Park in Marikina on 2nd of October, Sunday.
Just before the sun has to set, at 4:05 p.m., Former Senator Santiago’s casket was pushed into the grave, just right beside her son, Alexander, who finished himself after failing to meet the school of his preference in 2003.
The grave was a garden of different flowers of all white.
Her supporters, who called themselves “Red Warriors”, welcomed her funeral car with an overwhelming crowd as it drove inside the Loyola Memorial Park.
The funeral car’s route passed through New York Street in Cubao, Quezon City to E. Rodriguez to Aurora Boulevard. It also passed through Barangka, Marikina and went straight to the Loyola Memorial Park.
The cars who went with the funeral procession piled up to 100 meters parade.
