PAO Chief Acosta Reaction Against Accusations Against Her
PAO Chief Persida Acosta’s reaction regarding the accusations against her, for being a lawyer of Lt. Col. Ferdinand Marcelino and Yan Yi Shou.
Acosta denied the allegation that she works for Ferdinand Marcelino and Yan Yi Shou that was arrested for alleged illegal drugs manufacturing and possession in an apartment building in Sta. Cruz, Manila on January 21, 2016.
She said that Marcelino’s lawyer came from the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) where Acosta is the chief and she denied that she is the lawyer of the accused illegal drugs manufacturer. It was Provisional Temporary and limited assistance to defend those accused that were suddenly arrested.
PAO is known to serve indigenous people who have not enough fund to get a lawyer. So Tulfo asked Persida why they were able to serve Marcelino and Shou that were not included as indigenous people.
