Comee Comelec confirmed that the SK and Barangay Voters Registration will resume on October and will last until April 2017.
After the proposed postponement of the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) and Barangay elections has survived the legislative mill on Senate and House of Representatives, The Commission on Elections or Comelec will reopen the voters registration.
The Comelec will release to the public a timeline in connection to the resumption of the voters registration.
Comelec Chairman Andres Bautista, the voters registration will resume on October and will last until April of 2017. The poll body will also hold satellite registrations.
Based on the records of the Comelec, in the voters registration held last July 15 to 30, about three million voters were officially registered.
But Bautista clarified that the voters who have applied for registration this year, aging 18 and above, will have no need to register again for the 2019 midterm elections.
