Go Ahead For Mary Jane Veloso’s Fate Said By Duterte
Go ahead for Mary Jane Veloso’s execution said by President Rodrigo Duterte to the Indonesian Government on Monday (September 12, 2016).
Mary Jane is on a death row in Indonesia for a crime of drug trafficking that was supposed to be executed last 2010 but due to Philippine Government negotiation the execution was moved in 2015 via firing squad but it was also postponed for allowing her to testify against the illegal recruiter.
“President Duterte has given the go-ahead to proceed with the execution,” said by Indonesian President Joko Widodo quoted by GMA. On his meeting with the Philippine president last week during Duterte’s working visit to Indonesia according to the report.
During Duterte and Widodo’s meeting, the president of Indonesia explained to Rodrigo the case of Mary Jane. Joko said that Veloso’s case will be followed up by Attorney General M. Prasetyo on the legal process.
