Emergency Powers For President Duterte Approved by Congress

Emergency powers for President Duterte have been already approved by the House of the Representatives to solve the heavy traffic in the country.

Due to heavy traffic problem in the country the president request to have emergency power to address this issue especially in Manila.

On Thursday (September 08, 2016), the members of the board have already agreed to grant the power to Duterte to address the traffic issues that become a national crisis in the country, according to Catanduanes Rep. Cesar Sarmiento, chair of the House committee on transportation.

Sarmiento told the reporters after the committee meeting that in principle they will grant the emergency powers to Digong. He also said that in order the grant emergency powers would not be questioned in the court it must be constitutionally sound.
