Zika Virus Sixth Case In The Philippines Confirmed By DOH

Zika Virus sixth case in the Philippines confirmed by Department of Health (DOH) found from a Filipino from Iloilo is infected with this viru

On Monday (September 05, 2016) in a press conference DOH Undersecretary Gerardo Bayugo confirmed that Zika virus is already here in the country as a Filipina was examined abroad turned out positive. But there’s no outbreak of the virus in the country was announced according to Bayugo.

In some countries abroad this virus spread rapidly to their areas and declared outbreak as a lot of residence in foreign countries were infected. In the Philippines this six cases cannot be considered as an outbreak in our region for the medical experts and the government still can handle this case properly.

Zika Virus Sixth Case

DOH Secretary Dr. Paulyn Rosell-Ubial said during a press conference Zika case in our country there has no transmitted virus recorded yet as of now. Since 2012 the Zika cases in the Philippines were not transmitted locally for the victims are infected abroad.
