Those CHED scholars are teachers who are taking up a master’s degree. They are complaining because they did not still receive their living allowance until now after they are released temporarily from their regular jobs.

A college professor named “Chito” was already complaining about his current situation where having for only 1 to 2 meals a day because of the financial crisis. Aside from lacking meals they are also worried about a lot of expenses they need to pay for their course.

These teachers were only some of 4, 090 SHED scholars under the K-12 transition program who obtain a full scholarship for masters and doctorate degree. This program is implemented to enhance the teacher’s capability that will suit to the new curriculum.
