In an interview by PEP, Gab admitted that his outlook towards the President Duterte has changed.

During the Mountain Dew’s DEWmocracy PH event last Friday, August 12, Gab said that the doorway to growth is the opposition and added that the if no one’s opposing you, it means that someone is doing the right thing.

“So, with Duterte, he is the current president. I respect him and everything that he’s been doing,” Gab said.

He further explained that even though there are things that he is not in for, at the end of the day, Duterte must be respected as he is the nation’s leader.

“And so, with everything that he’s been doing so far, I’m very, very happy. I’m very impressed,” he said.

Valenciano expressed how he was impressed and is still longing to see more things from the President’s administration as, according to him, Duterte was just on his first month.

“One month pa lang siya and he already has done so much, so I’m glad that he’s proven me wrong.”

Last December 2015, Gab Valenciano criticized the before Davao City Mayor by posting this on Facebook:

“Would you hire a murderer to look after your kids? Would you invite a thief to look after your home? In this case, would you, who was born and raised a Filipino with the values and morals set and taught to you by past generations, appoint a president who completely rejects the morals we Filipino’s are known for? Family. Faith. Tact.”

This is in support of artist Kitchie Nadal’s reaction towards Duterte’s “womanizing” ways.
