Philippines Won Olympic Silver Medal in Weight Lifting
Philippines first Filipino woman Hidilyn Diaz won the silver medal in 2016 Rio Olympic Games this early morning in Philippine time. Diaz won the silver medal in the women’s 53 kg division in her third straight Olympics.

After 20 years since the Philippines won a silver medal by boxer Mansueto “Onyok” Velasco in 1996. The 25 years old Diaz won the silver medal with a score of 112 in clean and jerk and 88 in snatch, for a total of 200 against Chinese Taipei’s Hsu Shu-Ching with 212 who won the Gold in Women’s division.
Yoon Jin of South Korea has a score of 99. She assured to get at least bronze medal in the game but after her weightlifting performance she won the silver medal. After beating her rivals in weightlifting in Brazil she shared a video on Facebook which she express her gratitude to God and to the people.
