Duterte’s Anti-Poverty Program Supports by Filipinos in US

President Duterte’s anti-poverty program was supported by a group of Filipinos in Washington D.C. in US. Pinoy shows their support for the president for its aim to alleviate poverty in our country.

A community of Filipino in U.S and other countries called “Kababayan4Change Movement” supported the president. The group advised Duterte to “capitalize on the support of the 72 percent of the 432,000 OFW’s who voted for him.”

On August 05, 2016 a statement declare that Filipinos abroad voted Duterte for his no-nonsense style and salt of the earth demeanor way of speaking.  “Filipinos overseas, including those in the United States are no strangers to the toxic effects of the fundamental problems that plague the Philippines,” the statement said.

Our countrymen forced to leave their families here in the Philippines because of poverty and lack of opportunities. More than 10.2 million Filipinos are working abroad now. It is started at the time of former President Ferdinand Marcos four decades ago.
