LOOK: China’s Swimmer Takes All Eyes With Him In Rio

China’s Ning Zetao has more than the looks when he dips in the pool.

The people of the Republic of the Philippines may not give the islands in the West Philippine Sea up to China but surely, they will run to plunge into the pool when a Chinese swimmer starts to swim in 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Ning Zetao is a competitive swimmer, specializes in the sprint freestyle events, participating in this year’s Olympics. He is standing at 6’3”, having all lean muscle mass, and turns women’s heads wherever he goes.

Admirers can enjoy the sight of his chiseled six pack when he swims for the Chinese team in the Rio Olympics this year. Ning arrived in Rio on July 31st and together with the team, he has already been practicing (and making all eyes follow his every stroke).

But Ning has more than the looks because he has set the record for the 100-meter style as the first Asian man to swim the distance in under 48 seconds in 2015.

He was born in Zhengzou, China on March 6, 1993 and was raised in a military family. His father served in the Chinese air force and his mother worked in the Chinese People’s Armed Police Force.

He began swimming when he was eight years old and started training with the Chinese Navy Swimming Team by the time he turned 14. Ning had initially trained for the 200-meter and 400-meter individual medley races, but switched to sprint freestyle as a result of a chronic knee condition. He had mostly competed in national competitions.

He was suspended in 2011 after being involved in a scandal but after learning his lesson, Ning made an impressive comeback and won first place in the 100-meter freestyle at the 2013 Chinese National Championships.

In 2014, the record setting swimmer won gold in the 50-meter and 100-meter freestyle at the 17th Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea. He began making big waves in international competitions when he came in first for the 100-meter freestyle at the 2015 World Aquatics Championships in Kazan, Russia.

Mark your calendars, ladies because Ning is set to compete in the Rio Olympics 2016 for the men’s 100 meter freestyle on Aug. 9 and the men’s 50 meter freestyle on Aug. 11.
