Enforcer’s Unconventional Discipline To Jaywalking Students

Jaywalking Students – A traffic enforcer recently disciplined jaywalking students in Pampanga by making them sing the Philippine national anthem, Lupang Hinirang or recite the Panatang Makabayan.

In a post by a certain Ru Musngi in Facebook, it showed a picture of an unidentified enforcer standing in front of three students, that is said to be caught of jaywalking, can be seen reciting the Panatang Makabayan.

“Kudos to this traffic enforcer who patrols the intersection along AUF-SCC (Angeles University Foundation – Sports and Cultural Center). He forces jaywalkers (especially students) to either sing the National Anthem or recite the Panatang Makabayan.”

Musngi added that the enforcer said that he is just doing it to teach students to follow the law. The enforcer also said that he is doing this to prevent pedestrians from unwanted incidents caused by rushing vehicles in the street.

“I got the chance to talk to him the other day and he told me that he imposes these somehow harsh punishments to teach students how to follow the law. He added that he’s doing this not for his personal entertainment but to prevent pedestrians from getting hit by rushing vehicles coming from all sides of the intersection.”

Musngi also urged people to atleast give the enforcer a bottle of water or even thank him for what he’s doing at the AUF. He ended the post by convincing people not to jaywalk.

Jaywalking is a violation in the Philippines wherein one can be fined of P500 for passing a prohibited spot in an expressway or in the street. Crossing in pedestrian lanes would not just prevent one from being hit by passing vehicles but also avoiding being penalized.
