Red Meat Can Cause Kidney Failure
Eating red meat has a large impact in our kidney. According to the study it may lead us to kidney failure and kidney diseases.
We can reduce this risk by replacing it with other types of protein like eggs, fish, vegetable sources or chicken.
“There is an increase in numbers of individuals developing chronic kidney disease worldwide, and many progress to end-stage renal disease, which requires dialysis or a kidney transplant,” Woon-Puay Koh told Reuters Health by email.
Woon-Puay Koh, a researcher at the National University of Singapore and the study’s senior author. He said that it is strongly recommended by medical experts that having restrictions and proper guidelines in dietary protein intake can reduce the risk and slow the progression to end-stage renal disease.
