Former Presidents’ SONAs throwback will make people see how far the country has come.

Former Presidents’ SONAs marked in the history of the Philippines. The speeches of former Presidents Manuel L. Quezon, Ferdinand Marcos Sr., and Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo were indeed three of the most remarkable speeches in the history.

The State of the Nation Address is one national event that the citizenry really looks forward to as it is when the people gets to hear the message of the president which includes the plan of the new administration, the visions over the term, and the current situation of the country.

Three of the former Presidents’ speeches made a loud note – that of Presidents Quezon, Marcos, and Arroyo.

Going back to where it all started, it was President Manuel L. Quezon who is the very first president to have his national address. The second president of the Philippines delivered the very first SONA on November 25, 1935 as stated in a post in GMA News Online.

President Quezon’s speech included the unity in the promulgation of a Constitution that aims for the happiness and welfare of the citizenry. He also did emphasized the liberty of the nation – rooting from the tough path taken until the day of the independence of the country.
