Terrorist drives to crowds celebrating Bastille day massacre resulting to at least 84 dead including children during Bastille Day celebrations in Nice France.
The suspect, a 30 year old French-Tunisian criminal was well known to police for armed attacks. By using a hired lorry the driver reportedly zig-zagged his way through the crowds by killing as much.
Children’s are among the casualties in the event, as hundreds remains in the hospital and 18 fighting for their lives in the intensive cares.
“He was known to the police for violence, and using weapons, but had no direct links with terrorism,” said an investigating source. “His identity card was found in the lorry. He had French and Tunisian nationality.” The search team was able to extract a pistol, a larger gun and a number of fake weapons and grenades.
The perpetrator was stopped by armed police who fired bullets into the vehicle’s windscreen. He return fire with the officer after being shot dead.
Meanwhile French President extend state of emergency in the country and warned the country after it had been targeted by the Islamic Terrorist.
“A fresh atrocity has has just been inflicted on France,” he said in a televised address. “It is the whole of France which is under threat from Islamic terrorism.”
The driver step on the gas for two-kilometers (1.3 miles) through the crowd on the palm-lined Promenade des Anglais, leaving faces of fear and hundreds of bodies laying on the ground.
